HSNES is currently involved and sponsors the following projects:

Ghor es-Safi Project 2010-2011

Archaeological works were conducted in the Ghor es-Safi during 2010 and 2011 by the Hellenic Society for Near Eastern Studies (HSNES) in collaboration with the Department of Antiquities of Jordan (DoAJ). The project was funded by Aramex LLC with support of the above-mentioned institutions and directed by Dr Konstantinos D. Politis.

The Syrian Mosaic Pavement Documentation Training Programme

A collaborative training programme was conducted from 2004 to 2008 with the objective of fully documenting all the ancient mosaics in the Syrian Arab Republic (SAR).

Ghawr as-Safi Project 2011

Archaeological works were conducted in the Ghawr as-Safi during December 2011 by the Hellenic Society for Near Eastern Studies (HSNES) in collaboration with the Department of Antiquities of Jordan (DoAJ). The project was funded by Aramex LLC with support of the above-mentioned institutions and directed by Dr Konstantinos D. Politis.

New Hellenistic Syria gallery in the Archaeological Museum at Hama in Syria

From 2006-2008 a new gallery focusing on Syria during the Hellenistic period and a conservation laboratory were set-up, funded by Hellenic Aide of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Basilica of Aghios Lot Mosaic Pavements Conservation Project in Jordan

The conservation project for the mosaic pavements at the basilica of Aghios Lot in Jordan was conducted in 2011 and continues during 2012 with funding coming from the European Centre of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments. The work focused on conservation of the Diakonikon mosaic lifted in 900 fragments which is methodically being re-assembled for exhibition in the new Museum at the Lowest Place on Earth.
